the quiet zone

ROOM FOR PRIVACY IN A FAMILY APARTMENT

The family had recently bought the light and spacious apartment in a quiet street behind the King’s castle in the centre of Oslo. There was a lot of space for the family’s children to play, so the mother wanted a quiet relaxation zone, away from the busiest areas of the home.

We created a bed- and bathroom zone that was set apart from the rest of the space, to ensure peace and quiet. The bathroom was placed in the very end of this “quiet zone”, to be a place of absolute relaxation. To create a comfortable and warm ambience we decided upon a colour palette of golden, temperate tones, with sandstone colour and natural oak. A chocolate coloured matte mosaic tile added a hint of hammam, and all components were clean and simple. A large bath tub is the focus of the room, a perfect place to end the day.
